Birth trauma can show up in many different ways—sometimes days or weeks after birth, sometimes even during pregnancy. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or still processing an experience that left you shaken, scared, or silenced.

Whether it was something that happened during pregnancy, labour, birth, or after your baby arrived. This can look like many things for different people, but here are some of the common things we hear from mums and dads suffering with birth trauma.

Common signs of birth trauma include:

  • “I was scared for my life or my baby’s.”

  • “I’m still in shock, sad, or struggling to relax.”

How the 3-Step Process Works

This is a trauma-informed, non-clinical process designed to gently support the mind and nervous system in reprocessing difficult memories or emotions related to birth, pregnancy, or postpartum. It’s not therapy and you don’t have to “talk it all through” if you don’t want to.

Sessions can be done in person or via Zoom, and follow this simple structure:

Session 1: Soften the Edges (Approx. 60 mins)

A gentle beginning. You’re invited to share your story if you feel ready but you don’t have to. I’ll guide you through a calming relaxation to help settle your nervous system, often still in ‘high alert’ mode from trauma. You’ll receive a recording to use between sessions and in future.


Session 2: Reframe & Recode (Approx. 60 mins)

This is where the healing deepens. Through a guided relaxation, I help the mind safely reprocess the experience—keeping your insight and wisdom, while softening the emotional charge. This method is rooted in techniques originally developed for PTSD recovery. You remain fully in control throughout.


Session 3: Imagine a Lighter Future (Approx. 45 mins)

We will focus on how you want to feel going forward—lighter, calmer, more you. This session helps integrate the process and guide your mind into a place of greater peace and clarity. You’ll receive a recording to support your ongoing healing.
